Nestled deep in the foothills below Yosemite National Park lies another gem to be discovered: the high-elevation vineyards of Calaveras County — where the arid rolling hills and lakes of the mid-California meet the woodland of Stanislaus National Forest. The heart of our Scoundrel Red Blend is the Syrah grown in these beautiful vineyards — a juicy, spicy, meaty grape variety that has found a home in warm climate.
In a collision of worlds comes Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley, bringing density and structure to provide an ideal counterpoint to the softer, rounder Syrah component. To round it all out, a splash of Merlot to provide lift and brightness to the unorthodox blend — a rogue for the world of wine!
